Associate Director - Acquisition

About the Role

We’re looking for a leader. Someone who naturally builds connections and drives growth. Who can take a big picture and put it into practice. Does that sound like you?

Our Associate Director of Acquisition will be instrumental in delivering global growth for the Institute, leading a team of Business Development Managers to identify and grow new business opportunities across the CIOB.

Developing an ambitious Acquisition strategy which is aligned to the growth targets in our Corporate Plan, you will drive growth in individual and company membership, along with our many other income streams. You will also take the lead role in continuously enhancing our employer product offering, managing and developing products to meet the needs of our global membership.

And with personal responsibility for a number of our key, strategic accounts, you will have the opportunity to witness and develop the real impact of the work you are leading.

About You

Not afraid to forge your own path, you will bring experience, ambition and drive to the role. You’ll be truly collaborative and consistently strive for excellence.

Being able to demonstrate expertise and a proven track record in the fields of membership and customer acquisition, business development and product development; you will be able to show us that you understand the context and positioning of a professional body and how to make acquisition activities a success in this environment.  And if you can add to this experience of the built environment sector, all the better.

As a strong communicator, you’ll be able to build and facilitate effective networks, and will be able to show us how you’ve used those networks to generate tangible growth and benefits for your organisation.

You’ll also be data driven, with the ability to translate often complex acquisition data into compelling business cases and market insight, for a variety of audiences.

And finally, as an excellent people manager, you will be able to coach, develop and motivate a high performing team who can work with you to meet and exceed growth targets.

Why Work For Us?

We are the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership.  We can offer you not only the opportunity to make a real difference with the work you do, but the chance to do that in a really friendly, flexible and welcoming working environment, where we’ll show you that we’re committed to your personal wellbeing and to your development within your role.

We’ll offer you a fantastic range of benefits – from access to a great pension scheme through to a variety of health and wellbeing schemes; and we’ll make sure that you’re constantly learning throughout your time with us. We hold a Silver Investors in People Award – which we really hope will show you our commitment to this.
