Conversion of a grade II listed stable block to luxury, high tech entertainment space. Under full scaffolding and a temporary roof, WG Carter stripped out and renovated a dilapidated listed Cotswold stone stable and coach house block, converted it into a luxury entertainment space. Retaining the distinctive character of the stables whilst adding contemporary design and detailing to the interior has created a stunning recreational space with a bar, lounge/sleeping area, snug, home cinema, games and art studio with a new kitchen and shower room.

Award Winning Oxford College Refurbishment WG Carter undertook a major refurbishment and restoration project to replace the roof of a Grade I listed building for Worcester College, Oxford. The original building was constructed in the 1700’s and still houses a number of traditional Oxford university staircases with student accommodation, Fellows rooms and seminar rooms. A certificate was given at the 2022 Oxford Preservation Trust Awards acknowledging the pivotal role of WG Carter in preservation of the College.

Sensitive Modernisation of Grade II Listed Cotswolds House Having been ‘updated’ in the 1980s, the new owners wanted to restore the original features of this grade II listed property whilst at the same time modernising the house for today’s lifestyle. The external fabric of the Cotswold stone house was given a gentle refurbishment and complete redecoration. The majority of the metal windows were replaced or refurbished, and the slate roof was overhauled with the flat roof over the main entrance being completely replaced with lead. Internally, there were significant alterations to the layout of the ground floor to form a large opening between the dining room and the kitchen. A new kitchen, utility area and secondary kitchen were installed along with a staff office. WG Carter also converted some outbuildings and stables into a pool house, outdoor kitchen, and staff cottage.
